I wear my goose bumps<\/p>\n
like armor<\/p>\n
and step out into the world<\/p>\n
carrying my fragility<\/p>\n
like a weapon.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I step out<\/p>\n
into a war I didn\u2019t start.<\/p>\n
A war I can\u2019t end.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
It\u2019s easy to break me.<\/p>\n
But when I break I shatter<\/p>\n
into poetry;<\/p>\n
into sharp<\/p>\n
shards<\/p>\n
of hand-painted glass.<\/p>\n
When<\/p>\n
I<\/p>\n
break<\/p>\n
I will slice the hand that broke me.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
When I break,<\/p>\n
(because I do break)<\/p>\n
I can\u2019t be put back together.<\/p>\n
Well, maybe I could,<\/p>\n
but I won\u2019t look like I did before.<\/p>\n
